I'll put up the next chapter soon, I'll have to put a rating on it, LOL, one of the characters likes to curse a blue streak and oddly enough it's not Captain John, at least...not yet. ;O)

Anywho! Today was the interview, unfortunately I was late because I took the wrong train. It ended up going to the right place but it took the long route, then I got lost at the airport trying to find the place.

But it looks really interesting! Planes, people walking around in pilot uniforms. They said they'd get back to me tomorrow, fingers crossed. If I got the job I'd be working on weekends, but I'd get two days off during the week, so it'd all balance out.

Moving on, when I woke up this morning my nose was being very strange...I don't know what the deal is with this nose of mine...I wonder if I should use that anti-bacterial cream...

I just read the Reakk (sp?) thread in the Inkwell Halloween post and I have one thing to say...

BIG LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT!!!!!!!!!!

I'd make AL say it, but the thing's lasted too long as it is. :p

On Saturday the 14th at 4AM UTC/GMT we will be upgrading the operating system of our network load balancers to a newer version, one that will allow us to use both CPUs! Nifty, because multiprocessing is nice.

Since we have 2 load balancers, the plan is to upgrade 1 at a time, and there really should be very little impact to our website. Hopefully you won't notice a thing and I'll get to go back to the hotel and watch some wonderful late night infomercials.

We've got a lot of exciting projects coming up for 2010 and we're hoping that we'll be able to deliver them all to you, that you will find it useful/cool/lovely and then you will use the site even more. Behind-the-scenes work like this will give us the capacity to handle the anticipated traffic, so expect a few more maintenance windows especially in the beginning of next year as we've got some neat ideas to improve performance around here! We had the recent 30-45 minute outage yesterday due to one of our logging databases filling up disk space -- not so great design coupled with my human error in handling the initial problem -- and it looks like we're going to finally have some resources to eliminate stuff like that. I can't wait!

As usual, I will be updating status.livejournal.org before and after, just in case you are not able to reach our main website during the work.

So the interview is tomorrow and it's set to be hot as all out! What is it with my interviews and hot weather? That's really quite annoying.

Hmm well I had to go off and clean up the kitchen and now I better get my butt to bed, big trip tomorrow to the interview.

Still haven't heard from the publishing people, fingers and toes remain crossed.

And I've further realised I in fact want to watch BTTF on FRIDAY over here because of the time difference, LOL. But! It looks like I need to go to Newtown so I can show the apartment to prospective tenants on Saturday, so that should work out.

Ed told me last night that they found out that there's nothing wrong with Baby Timmy now (he had been sick) and he's just afraid to eat anything (if I'd been throwing up, I wouldn't want to eat either and I'm 26; the poor kid just turned 3). They won't let him leave the hospital 'til he eats something.

Edit: Aww, he didn't go into detail. He didn't even show the scariest scene (which he described as a "jump scare", so I'm thinking the bathtub scene). He just played through the intro.

I miss my Wii/Cube so I can play that. :( It's somewhere at Ed's parents' house. One of these days I have to get it and my mixer back here. AND my friggen Doctor Who DVDs! I'm suffering withdrawal, dammit!

10:52pm: Onto the business of today, well I haven't heard back from the publishing people, I guess I can try and call tomorrow, fingers and toes crossed.

I do however have an interview on Thursday at a very interesting place! It's a admin position at a company which teaches people to fly. It's at Bankstown Airport, that sounds pretty damn interesting.

Moving along, I'm listening to my music because I think I've finished up with the tapes, but the TV's still on and there's a weird show on right now. It's partly hilarious because the chick who plays Rose on Dr. Who is in it as a call girl and it mostly seems to involve giving everyone in the buildings across from the hotel an eyeful. Also, TV programs aren't shy about showing boobs on TV these days are they?

In other news I've just posted Chapter 5 of my NaNo tale, but the word count for today was decidely poor as I was distracted.

Whoops, According to the NaNo sight I should be over 18,000 words by now But stay cool, stay cool. Now we're onto the exciting part of the story, so hopefully the words will flow.

In other news, I better hurry because I need to get to bed but before I do I have to put on some garbage and recycling because Mum neglected to do it. Honestly...

So I think Mirage has played as much as I can get her to in the Inkwell. She had a blast. So did AL and the guys, as always.

I really should head to sleep. Ed and I went to the Cafe Sunday night and I didn't get to sleep 'til after midnight. I spent more time doing karaoke than on the dance floor. :p

Please keep in your thoughts Baby Timmy. He's in the hospital because he was throwing up and not eating anything. Tomorrow they're gonna knock him out and scope him to find out what's wrong with his throat.

Edit: Oh, and as for K9's new series? I don't like the new look but at least John Leeson is doing his voice, so that's a plus. It's a kid's show, but I'll watch it just for K9. I <3 that dog.

I did however find some volunteer work at the Oxfam Shop, which is good seeing as they're devoted to selling Fair Trade goods, so I can feel like I making a difference.

Still a paid job would, of course, be better. C'mooon! :OD

Indeedy! Although I'm in the middle of the unpleasant chapter, I'm wondering how much detail I should go into, since too much angst and shit usually ends up looking completely lame. Please advise.

When I woke up this morning I felt a bit off, and I'm hoping to Hell I'm not getting a cold because if I'm successful with that publishing company they'll call me in for a second interview and I can hardly not go! Fingers and toes crossed! Knock on wood!

Anywho, I'm eating grapes now, I wonder if they have vitamin C in them...

I had a lovely dream with Michael Jackson in it.

Shut up.

We were riding in a car. He was driving and I was in the passenger seat while his backup dancers and band were in the back seats. I think it was the people from This Is It, but Michael himself looked like a mix of what he looked like in that movie and how he looked in Moonwalker. As in healthy, happy and handsome. We were talking, but I'm not sure what about. I do remember patting his knee for some reason and I could feel the bone through the fabric of his pants. I think it comes from thinking of AL visiting him after he was diagnosed with vitiligo and lupus and her asking him about his skin and weight loss. Anyway, we wind up at this big house and I remember feeling that I'd come home. I was actually going to cry in the dream. Later on, Michael had some kind of surprise for me which required me to go through the house following clues or arrows or something while other people went with me to make sure I didn't get lost or something. It ended with me finding a signed picture of Michael and he'd written "Lisa, I love you" on it along with his name. I remember hugging him and an almost overwhelming sadness came over me and I told him that I just wanted to hold him for a while. He said it was okay and then I woke up.

If I see any lewd comments or any negative crap in response to this post, it will be deleted. I will not tolerate that shit. You got problems with Michael Jackson, keep it to yourself.

10:41pm: So I finally got around to getting that last HPV shot and let me tell you my arm is still sore. Oww.

Despite this I got some good writing done on my NaNo (and I just posted Chapter Three for your convince :O)

Although I've got a feeling I may rewrite most of Chapter Four because it's really not very interesting and even though NaNoWriMo is about the word count I'd like to have something semi-passable at the end.

I'm not looking forward to the unpleasantness, last time I had to write angst in a NaNo novel it was George III's father's death and I cried like a little baby.

In other news I don't think I got enough zzzs last night, I practically fell asleep on the bus on the way over to Newtown to take inventory of the apartment and drop of the keys to the real estate agency that's going to try and rent it out to us.

This may have had to do with my phone running low on batteries and waking me up by it's beeping.

Also, I put glasses in a weird place this morning and I almost didn't find them! I practically freaked out, I totally need those. Luckily I found them, somehow they'd got into the folds of the pillow I keep on my desk chair.

In other news I'm listening to my playlist, but I've got Lateline on but muted and this is supposed to be late night news and they're doing an indepth interview with a the creator of Mad Man, which I understand is a good TV show, but it's not exactly news. Seriously WTF?

Anywho, the meme writers must be doing NaNoWriMo or otherwise distracted because no memes are up, but there's this one I didn't do last week:

In closing I had a seriously bizarre dream where I went to New York to a hotel...where I made a racist remark (?!) while checking in and end up been kept in the the reception area for ages and ages while everyone else got their rooms before me.

Then I had to go hunting for my room and I could find it, but instead saw snakes with Ralph Wiggums head on them being beheaded (?!)

Finally a busload of kids crashed into a lake and eventually I dived in to help save them along with a number of other people.

All in all this added up to a huge "WTF?" Whatever I ate last night I best avoid it in the future.

SJA is downloading so I can watch that tomorrow before I have to go to the theater, then hopefully some kind soul will post Part 2 and I can get that after work.

Ed's not coming home 'til late Saturday or something, so after work Mom is bringing me up to the stables so I can pay board and we're bringing my neices so I can let them ride Shada for a little bit. Only thing that's gonna suck is it's gonna be 50 degrees out. At least it'll be mostly sunny.

I've hit a roadblock with the Inkwell Halloween party, but AL and the guys had a ball as always. Who's birthday is next? :p Or is it gonna be Thanksgiving?

Speaking of birthdays, I neglected to mention happy birthday to 11th Doctor Matt Smith on the 28th of October. Heh, next year is his Golden Birthday. :D AL should do something special, hehe.
